Uproar over injustice of matatu owned by senior Gov’t official’s son
Uproar over injustice of matatu owned by senior Gov’t official’s son: The Matatu Crew Welfare Association has decried being discriminated against in the matatu industry.
This as two matatu vehicles plying the Ngong – Nairobi route have been breaking traffic laws in broad daylight in front of traffic police.
According to reports, The matatus are said to belong to the son of a prominent high-level government official.
Kuna magari watu wanasema ni za serikali, gari haina at jina ya Sacco…gari inakuja hapa inareverse kwa roundabout, askari wanaangalia tu,” said WIlfred Bosire, the association chairman.
The vehicles are said to lack PSV, insurance, and do not belong to any Sacco. They also lack Road Service Licenses (RSL)
Askari wa trafiki, hata Regional Commander, hawaeziongelea hizo magari, hii ni nchi gani tunaishi? People are scared, they can’t speak, but some of us must speak whether we’re going to be abducted or not. We want fairness in doing business,”
