Viral Fake Veterinary Has Been Arrested in Bomet
Kipkerich Rugut was found in the act, selling counterfeit veterinary drugs which led to his detention at Chepalungu Police Station, where he faces charges.
He stated,”Nlikosa daktari nikaona niponeshe ng’ombe… mimi nafuga ng’ombe na nalima shamba.”
According to Kenya Veterinary Board Manager Compliance and Enforcement Dr Benson Kibore, this has been a trend in Bomet County, where fake veterinarians are exploiting the community’s reliance on animal husbandry.
He stated, “Unfortunately, these are the drugs that are being used by the quacks to cause harm not only to animal welfare but also to derogate the practice of veterinary medicine in the Republic of Kenya,”
“The board, through our CEO, already issued a statement that anybody selling prescription-only drugs and does not have the authority of the board will be deregistered,” he added.
