Gov’t Sends Urgent Message to Kenyans Who Applied For ID Card Replacements: Huduma Kenya has directed Kenyans who applied for replacements of their identification cards to pick them up as soon as possible.
According to Huduma Kenya, the National Registration Bureau (NRB) had cleared the backlog and the documents were now ready for collection.
“Applied for a duplicate ID? The National Registration Bureau (NRB) have cleared the backlog. Come for the ID,” Huduma Kenya stated.
The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman) had given the director of NRB a seven-day ultimatum to respond to questions raised about delays in the issuance of identity cards.
The statement Read,”Pursuant to Section 8 of the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011, the Commission acknowledges the serious complaints reported concerning delays in the processing and issuance of ID cards,”
“The Commission has given the Director, National Registration Bureau seven days to respond to the delay in the issuance of identification documents,” read part of the statement.
The replacement of ID cards is currently being done at all Huduma centres across the country at a cost of Ksh1,000.
