TSC Outlines 6 Issues Resolved: The Teachers’ Service Commission (TSC) on Wednesday announced it had resolved some of the issues raised by teachers in their letter to the commission.
According to TSC, They had reached an agreement with the Kenya Union of Post-Primary EducationTeachers (KUPPET) and the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) for the implementation of the second phase of the Collective Bargain Agreement (CBA).
TSC Also promised to review the career progression guidelines, urging teachers to be patient as the process was still ongoing
Additional issues that were resolved include access to both public and private hospitals by teachers under the Teachers Medical Scheme, provide adequate resources for the retooling of teachers for the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
TSC Stated,”We, therefore, wish to thank the unions for engaging the Commission to ensure non-disruption of learning in schools during the Third Term, 2024. The TSC wishes to profusely thank the Government for providing adequate resources for the CBA and all other teacher programmes despite the harsh economic environment.”
This comes moments after both KNUT and KUPPET unanimously rejected the offers made by the government and vowed to Move Forward With The Strike.
