EACC Summons Didmus Barasa After Viral Controversial Allegations
EACC Summons Didmus Barasa: The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has summoned Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa over bribery allegations.
The Legislators has been directed to present himself before the commission’s headquarters on Tuesday, August 27, to answer to bribery allegations against him.
This comes after the member of parliament failed to honour the first summon issued against him.
He had been ordered to EACC appear before the commission and record a statement on August 14, 2024 which he didn’t show up.
EACC stated,”The Commission hereby accords you a second opportunity to come and respond to the allegations of bribery made against you,”
“To this end, you are required to appear at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission’s offices at Integrity Centre, Nairobi on August 27, 2024 at 9:00 am.”
The Commission therefore issued a warning to Barasa, that failure to honour the latest summon will result in the inquiry proceeding to its conclusion without reference to him.
The bribery allegation in question relates to documents availed to the Commission which reportedly show that the transaction occurred on December 13, 2023.
