Raila Lists Reasons Why He’s Vying For AU Chairman As Ruto Unveils His Candidacy: Kenya’s AUC candidate Raila Odinga has said he intends to make the African Union a people-centered organisation, should he become its chairman.
Raila said that he will work with all heads of state to achieve this, adding that he wants the people in the African continent to feel the AU’s impact on their lives.
He Stated,” I plan to work with leaders to make the African Union Commission more people-centered and serve the interest of the vast majority of voiceless Africans. If elected the chair, I will use the transition period to analyze the existing proposals critically,”
” I have traveled the length and breadth of this continent and seen the faces of Africa’s future. My selection as Kenya’s AUC chair candidate is not about one man’s ambition, but a journey to serve the motherland,”
Adding: I am ready to serve; my heart and hands are steady. With your support, I will get the opportunity to be of service to Africa, the cradle of mankind. I am made in Eastern Africa for Africa.”
On His part, DP Gachagua stated that it’s an honor for Kenya’s finest, to lead the African Union Commission.
“Our motherland deserves the best. Passion knows no age and limit. Raila Odinga is known for his resilience, endurance, and perseverance. Today, we celebrate his transition from a national leader to an African statesman,”
“As a truthful man, I had no issue with Raila Odinga’s leadership. The only problem was that he was competing for the same position as my boss. Now that he is running for a higher sit in Africa, all Kenyans are supporting him,”
Adding: I must acknowledge the place of family not only in our lives but also in leadership. As a country, we must appreciate Ida Odinga’s role in Raila Odinga’s life. We salute her for being a strong pillar for her husband during challenging and difficult times.”
