Third Case of Mpox Confirmed in Nairobi
According to Director General for Health Dr Patrick Amoth, the patient has a recent travel history to Uganda but she is is currently in stable condition and receiving treatment in an isolation unit in the capital.
Dr Amoth highlighted that the Ministry has been actively monitoring the situation through The ongoing active surveillance including the screening of travelers at the country’s designated Ports of Entry, with over 582,000 individuals screened to date.
The Ministry of Health is therefore urging the public to remain calm, assuring that the healthcare system is fully equipped to manage the disease.
“We wish to reassure the public that our healthcare facilities are fully prepared to diagnose and manage this disease and there is no need to panic… We remain dedicated to safeguarding the health and well-being of all citizens and we will continue implementing comprehensive response measures,” said Dr Amoth in a statement to newsrooms.
