DCI Reveals Body Identification Process At Hillside Endarasha On The Bodies of Pupils Who Perished in The Fire
DCI Reveals Body Identification Process: The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) will on Monday begin the identification process on the bodies of pupils who perished in the Hillside Endarasha Academy dormitory fire.
According to Nyeri County Commissioner Pius Murugu, the bodies are in the Naromoru Level 4 Hospital and the process of identifying them will begin Monday.
Murugu said the DCI will lead the process, which he described as tedious and long as the bodies were burnt beyond recognition.
“Many more students are missing but that process will start tomorrow at Naromoru. It’s going to be a long process and we hope to have it concluded soon,” Murugu said.
He further revealed that the government will pay any medical bills incurred by students admitted to various hospitals, and will take charge of the send-off for the deceased.
Murugu further said together with the Ministry of Education they will convene a meeting to have the school re-opened as quickly as possible, as there are national exams this term.
“Even though boarding will be delayed, day school will continue as we make plans for the boarding part,” he added.
