Athlete Collapses and Dies After Completing 3,000M Race in Eldoret

Athlete Collapses and Dies after competing in a scholarship trial at Kipchoge Stadium in Uasin Gishu County.

According to a police report Joseph Hussein Njagi completed the 3,000-metre race at around midday and collapsed at the finish line.

Athletics officials rushed the 20-year-old to Uasin Gishu District Hospital to receive medical treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police officers who arrived at the scene,  transferred the body to Moi Teaching And Referral Hospital morgue pending Autopsy to determine the cause of death.
