Governor Abdulswamad Finally Breaks Silence Amid Claims Linking Him and Family To The Abduction and Sexual Assault of Mombasa Blogger
Governor Abdulswamad Finally Breaks Silence, stating his innocence amid ongoing investigations into the brutal sexual assault of Mombasa blogger Bruce John.
The governor held a press briefing at his office on September 30 shortly after the release of his right-hand man – the Mombasa County Executive Committee Member for Lands Mohamed Hussein, alias Amadoh.
He stated,”This young man has sent me text messages in excess of 800 messages through different numbers. I’ve never responded to any one of those messages,”
“I’ve been in politics for in excess of a decade and throughout my life, neither myself nor any of my family members have ever crossed the line of meting any form of violence on anyone. When I go out on public platforms, my policy is a policy of never mentioning anyone, talking vulgarly, or doing anything.”
He went on, “It’s a bit shocking that it is now being deemed for the public perception that both myself and my 74-year-old mother would be part and parcel of a heinous act of this magnitude. We have never nor will we ever stoop that low.”
Amadoh’s arrest raised questions, because he has worked with Governor Nassir since his days as a Member of Parliament in 2013.
“People have tried to physically harm me and my family but we have never hit back. It is not who we are. I have every intention of clearing my name and whoever is behind this form of malignment will be brought to book,” stated the governor.
“As much as I feel sorry for whatever happened to this young man, the spirit of my family will not only forgive and forget, but we will leave it to the Almighty.”
