Gachagua speaks After 281 Members of Parliament Voted To Impeach Him
Gachagua speaks After 281 Members of Parliament Voted To impeach Him: While quoting the holy book, the ousted dp highlighted the need to be thankful in any circumstance.
He stated,” Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. From them will come songs of thanksgiving
and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained.”
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was dealt a blow on Tuesday, October 8, as his worst fears were confirmed after 281 members of the National Assembly voted to impeach him. Only 44 defended the embattled DP.
This approval has now paved the way for the motion to transition to the Senate – which now holds the key to the DP’s fate.
While speaking in Parliament, the dp also came at the Deputy Speaker, reminding her what she said at Eldoret.
Gachagua stated, “Honorable Shollei, I heard what you said in Eldoret, and I heard what you said this morning that I should be sent to prison. My sister, I’m a grateful man. I remember. I will never forget during the last administration when I was arrested on fabricated charges for standing with President William Ruto, which the government of the time opposed. You came and sat with me at the DCI headquarters, brought me tea, brought me lunch, sat with me, comforted me at court, and you coordinated the collection of 12.5 million shillings as my cash bail. You came to see me in Gigiri for four days and had very kind words. Despite what you have said, my sister, I do remember that one good thing that you did for me. I love you and cherish you.”
