Drama As Over 40 Land Registrars Across The Country Arrested By EACC, among them Suzzane Vusha (Nairobi), Sheila Mwai (Eldoret), Erick Nyamu (Nakuru), Monocah Bor (Bomet), Francis Kariuki (Eldoret), Felix Nyakundi (Thika), Steve Mokaya (Kwale), Charles Ngetich (Nairobi) for their involvement in dubious land deals that have rocked the Ministry of Lands.
The officials are under investigation for their involvement in various fraudulent transactions, which include the illegal double allocation of land parcels, facilitating tax evasion through the manipulation of stamp duty and misappropriating private land for personal or financial gain.
A notable figure among the accused is Samuel Langat, an officer based at the Survey of Kenya (SoK), who has long been linked to irregular land allocations and unexplained wealth.
Langat’s involvement in this cartel has positioned him as one of the most powerful and influential players in the corruption scandal.
Their actions, particularly in regions like Nairobi, Nakuru and Eldoret have allegedly contributed to large-scale land disputes, with victims ranging from individuals to institutions.
