Government Cancels Notice 3 Days After Declaring Speaker’s Seat Vacant
The County Government of Nyamira has revoked an announcement that it made declaring a vacancy in the Office of the Speaker.
According to the County Public Service Board, Nyamira had decided that they would no longer be receiving applications to fill the position of speaker after the vacancy notice was revoked.
“Attention is hereby brought to the general public that the advertisement of the vacancy in the office of the speaker of the County Assembly dated 25th October 2024 has been revoked,’’ the Board shared in a notice.
“Please note that the County Assembly shall not be held liable to any fraud related to the said advertisement henceforth,’’ it added.
This comes just three days after the Public Service Board declared the position Vacant following the impeachment of its previous holder, Enock Okero.
Okero was impeached on Thursday after 23 Members of the County Assembly (MCA’s) voted to support the impeachment motion
