DCI Arrests Prime Suspect in Journalist’s Murder
DCI Arrests Prime Suspect in connection to the brutal murder of a journalist in Kahawa West.
He was apprehended in the Kaanwa area of Tharaka Nithi county, four days after the body of Lilian Achieng Aluko was discovered in a house in Kahawa West, Nairobi.
The suspect is believed to be the lover of the slain jounalist Achieng, with authorities uncovering more details on what could have led to the murder.
“Probing the case, police found out that the two lovebirds had on a fateful night had a good time at a local establishment before retreating to the boyfriend’s place of aboard in Kahawa West,” a statement from the DCI read.
According to reports, the slain lady was in the company of the key suspect at a local establishment before the duo retreated to his house in Kahawa West.
Neighbours recount hearing loud screams from the suspect’s house, which was also playing loud music. It is believed the music was meant to drown the late Achieng’s cries for help.
Hours later, Achieng’s lifeless body lay in the suspect’s house. He was nowhere to be seen.
Authorities observed that the journalist was found with visible facial injuries and a stab wound behind her right ear.
The suspect left the murder weapon – a knife – at the scene which authorities collected as evidence.The suspect is currently being held in Kararani, awaiting processing and arraignment in court.
