CSs Joho, Mbadi, and Mutua Make 23 Key Government Appointments
Several Cabinet Secretaries have made key appointments in their respective ministries.
Cabinet Secretary for Mining and Blue Economy, Hassan Joho made appointments in the National Mining Corporation and the Kenya Fishing Industries Corporation where he appointed Faraj Majur and both Adan Yusuf Deis and Darius Mobe and board members of the respective corporation
Under the Ministry of National Treasury, CS John Mbadi appointed Michael Waititu Maina as a member under the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority.
At Consolidated Bank Limited, Mbadi appointed Harun Kipkemei and Florence Auma Oluoch as members of the board of directors.
Mbadi also appointed Millicent Omanga to serve in the ministry as part of the board of directors of the Local Authorities Provident Fund.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 (1) (a) of the Local Authorities Provident Fund Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning appoints— Samwel Kariuki Maina, Beatrice Kones, Millicent Nyaboke, to be members of the Board of the Local Authorities Provident Fund, for three (3) years, with effect from the 8th November 2024,” the Gazette notice read.
Deborah Barasa, the Cabinet Secretary for Health also made two appointments.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (e) of State Corporations Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Health appoints — Tusmo Jama, Sylvia Achieng Ojoo, Moses Merkalel Atuko, to be members of the Board of Kenya BioVax Institute Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from November 8, 2024, Sylvia Achieng Ojoo serves up to July 27, 2025,” read one of her appointments.
Dr Barasa then revoked Sylvia Achieng Ojoo’s appointment in order for her to serve in the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council
Julius Migos Ogamba, the CS for education in his capacity appointed Francis Mutungi, Adan Omar Enow, and Hawo Shanko Abdullah to join the Council of the North Eastern National Polytechnic to serve until June 15, 2026
Alice Wahome, the CS for Land and Public Works made three new appointments. In the National Construction Authority, she appointed Mercy Okiro and Peter Musango while in the National Construction Appeals Board, she appointed Yvette Olende to join the board.
