Senior TSC Officer Lands SRC Commissioner Job
President William Ruto has nominated Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Nyanza Regional Director (RD) Jane Gatakaa Njage to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
Njage, who comes from Embu county, was among 11 others who were interviewed by TSC on June 20, 2024, at the Commission headquarters in Upper Hill, Nairobi, after the position was advertised in March this year.
Candidates included its long-serving Director in charge of Administrative Services Ibrahim Mumin, and the immediate former Kenya Secondary School Heads Association (KESSHA) National Chairman Kahi Indimuli.
Others are Kenneth Bundi Marangu from Meru, Ambrose Ageng’a from Homa Bay, Joseph Muthama Ndiku from Machakos, Josia Kinyua Joel from Uasin Gishu, Sammy Chepkwony from Nandi, Miriam J. Kosgei from Uasin Gishu, Prof. Thomas Katua Ngui from Machakos, and Dr William Kibet Kiprono from Elgeyo Marakwet county.
In a notice dated November 12, 2024, President Ruto nominated Sammy Chepkwony Chairperson of the SRC; other members nominated are Maj. Gen (Rtd.) Martin Kizito (nominee of the Defense Council), Mohammed Aden (county governments), Leonid Ashindu (nominee of the Association of Professional Societies in East Africa) Dr. Gilda Odera (Federation of Kenya Employers) and Dr. Geoffrey Apollo (Trade Unions, COTU).
