Full LIST of Raila Allies Currently Working in Ruto’s Gov’t As More Appointments Underway
Following tension coming from anti- government protests in July, 2024, President William Ruto dissolved his entire Cabinet sending home his allies.
Only half made it back to the government with the remaining filled with allies of former Prime Minister and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
While dismissing his cabinet, President Ruto said he was going to consult widely and form an inclusive and broad-based government.
Names from Raila’s camp who made it to Ruto’s Cabinet include;
Hassan Ali Joho
He was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs.
Wycliffe Oparanya
He was appointed Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSME Development.
John Mbadi
Formerly a nominated MP and also ODM’s National Chairman, was appointed as Treasury Cabinet Secretary.
Opiyo Wandayi
Opiyo Wandayi who was at the time serving as National Assembly Minority leader and MP for Ugunja took over the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum.
Beatrice Askul
Beatrice Askul Moe who served on the ODM party’s election Board was appointed as the Cabinet Secretary for East Africa, Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL), and Regional Development.
The President is expected to make more appointments as the new year officially starts.
