Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has broken silence After he was castigated during the burial of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula’s mother highlighting he “told them the truth”.
The Governor became the centre of attack by leaders after he addressed the ongoing wave of abductions in Kenya.
In his address, Natembeya disagreed with some leaders present over abductions, for instance when Cotu boss Francis Atwoli said some Kenyans were abducting themselves to get funding from some civil society organizations.
In a rejoinder, Natembeya termed the remarks by Atwoli as unfortunate and inconsiderate for families looking for their children.
The remarks however, seemingly angered Ichung’wah who went rampage on Natembeya, highlighting that he was a regional commissioner in the last administration, where abductions and extra-judicial killings were witnessed.
Natembeya responding on when he was a regional commissioner said,”
Natembeya went on to say the families of these abducted youths are undergoing untold trauma, “not knowing the whereabouts of their children.”
