Education CS Julius Ogamba has revealed that results of 840 KCSE candidates have been cancelled due to examination irregularities.
He was Speaking when he released 2024 KCSE results at Mtihani House. The CS further added that a total of 2, 829 results are withheld pending investigations, which will be completed in 30 days from January 9.
Ogamba highlighted that it is unfortunate that some teachers are still facilitating exam irregularities.

He therefore outlined that disciplinary actions will be taken against 91 teachers who were caught aiding exam malpractices.
A total of 962,512 candidates sat for the exams which was done from October 22 to November 22, 2024.
In November 2024, Ogamba assured parents, students and teachers that the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) would no longer cancel entire centres’ national exam results if malpractice is detected.
He said that the Kenya National Examinations Council will handle cheating cases on an individual basis.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I am here to report that we put in place very serious measures to the extent that this year if there is any malpractice, we are not going to condemn the whole school, center, or number of people who are there. It is going to be individualised,” the CS said then
