The family of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta has been send to Mourning following the death of veteran rally driver Kibathi Muigai.
Kibathi who a first cousin to the retired head of state, rested last week at age 72.
Kibathi, commonly known as Wa Ngina was also a prominent businessman from the larger Kenyatta family.
He was a brother to politicians Beth Mugo, Ngengi Muigai and Kungu Muigai.
Kungu is the patron of Kiama Kiama. He serves as the chairperson of the Board of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council having been appointed in January 2023.
During his time as safari rally driver, Kibathi drove a Mitsubishi Colt Lancer with his navigator being Arshad Khan.
The Mitsubishi lancer was synonymous with Joginder Singh aka ‘Flying Sikh” who won the rally three times.
His cause of death is still unknown to the public. However, He will be laid to rest on Friday at his Ichaweri home in Gatundu South.
