Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated that Mt Kenya residents will forgive but the region will never forget about what President Ruto did.
Gachagua who was speaking in Olkalou constituency, Nyandarua County revealed that the Mt Kenya region will consult widely before deciding on the candidate to support.
“I had a friend who we worked with and whom I helped very much, he used to call me Riggy G and Baba Kevin, but now he is pretending not to know me, he is now calling me a tribalist,” Gachagua said.
“Now we only depend on God because human beings are unpredictable, some of us especially people from this region are now very careful, if someone comes to us now, we will do a thorough background check,” he added.
While referencing the day’s sermon on forgiveness, Gachagua hit out at the government over surging cases of abductions stating that the perpetrators of the abductions and killings of young people will also be forgiven but never forgotten.
On his allies being dismissed from political roles, the former DP stated that they were now free to put the government on the spot over stalled projects in the region.
Among those who were removed from their various Senate committee roles included Kiambu Senator Karungo Wa Thang’wa who was dismissed from his role as the Chairperson of the Roads and Transport Committee.
He stated,”Those who have been removed from parliamentary seats should not worry, including my friend Methu, those seats are just flowers, the main seat is the one which you hold on behalf of Nyandarua people,”
“As long as these residents are happy with you, you do not have a problem, so do not be worried about being removed from the position of a committee chairperson in parliament.”
