Missing Member of County Assembly (MCA) from Wajir, Yussuf Hussein Ahmed, has been found alive and reunited with his family.
Eldaa Member of Parliament Adan Keynan took to social media to marvel on the development, simply writing, “Alhamdulillahi!!!”
His counterpart in the National Assembly and Wajir County Woman Representative Fatuma Abdi Jehow also expressed her gratitude early Sunday morning, also taking to social media to share an update and photos of the now free MCA.
“No words but to say Alhamdullilah! Welcome home our MCA Hon Yussuf Tolfiyow,” the woman rep stated.
As of the time of publishing of this article, the MCA was yet to share details of where he has been and how he was recovered.
On September 13, 2024, the Dela Ward MCA went missing along Enterprise Road in Nairobi during the heat of abductions in the country.
What followed was a deep mystery that proved impossible to unravel as reports of his mutilated body being found in a lake shortly after his capture soon hit the headlines.
However, subsequent DNA tests would prove that the body did not belong to the missing MCA, further complicating issues.
Just a few weeks ago, one of the activists abducted in Kitengela in August last year, Bob Njagi, gave a media interview where he revealed he had had a chilling encounter with the missing MCA while in captivity.
During the interview on February 5, Njagi revealed that he had seen a man of Somali origin being brought into the room next to him in the wee hours of Friday night, September 13, 2025.
“The MCA for Wajir County was actually in the room next to where I was. I had the opportunity to peep through the keyhole and saw him on the night he was brought in Friday, September 13. I had been keeping dates since the day I was abducted and I realised someone had been brought in at night which was not normal,” Njagi recalled.
