Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Selection Panel Chairman, Nelson Makanda, has invited shortlisted candidates for interviews starting on Monday, March 24, as the process to appoint the IEBC commission continues.
In an official notice dated Friday, March 14, Nelson Makanda published the final list of shortlisted candidates, reducing the number of candidates for the chairperson position from the previous 37 to 11.
Among the 11 candidates invited for the oral interviews are Abdulqadir Lorot H. Ramadhan, Anne Atieno Amadi, Charles Ayako Nyachae (a former judge of the East African Court of Justice (EACJ), and Edward Katama Ngeywa (PWD). They will form the first group of interviewees on Monday.
Others set to be interviewed on Tuesday are Erastus Edung Ethekon, Francis Kakai Kissinger, Jacob Ngwele Muvengei, and Joy Brenda Masinde-Mdivo.
Meanwhile, Lilian Wanjiku Manegene, Robert Akumu Asembo, and Saul Simiyu Wasilwa will face the panel on Wednesday.
Further, the panel has reduced the list of shortlisted commissioners to 105 candidates, who will be interviewed on subsequent days until Thursday, April 24. Of the 105 candidates, 32 are women.
The oral interviews will take place in the Ballroom at the College of Insurance, South C, Nairobi County, and will be conducted in public.
All shortlisted candidates are required to present their original national identity card or passport, along with the originals of their testimonials and certificates.
Kenyans have been invited to submit, in writing and under oath, any information of interest regarding the suitability of any of the shortlisted applicants for both positions.
