“Kenya-Somalia border counties (Garissa, Wajir, Mandera), Tana River County, and coastal areas north of Malindi due to terrorism and kidnapping,” part of the statement read.
The embassy also warned of banditry attacks near the Ethiopian border, stating, “Parts of Marsabit and Turkana Counties within 30 miles (50 kilometres) of the Ethiopian border due to cross-border incursions
Notably, in February, five Kenyan chiefs were abducted by suspected Al Shabaab terrorists in the neighbouring Mandera County and their whereabouts are yet to be determined.
