Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, through the County Executive Committee Members (CECM), Education, Gender, Culture, and Social Services Mercy Njagi, has revoked the appointment of 22 members of the Ward Education Bursary Committees.
In a Gazette notice dated March 21, 2025, Njagi confirmed that the members, from 7 wards, have been dismissed effective immediately.
“In EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 7 of the Kiambu County Education Bursary Fund Act 2014, the County Executive Committee Member for Education revokes the appointment of the persons named in the first column of the schedule as members of Ward. Education Bursary Committees of respective wards as specified in the third column of the Schedule,” it stated.
The notice, however, did not disclose the reason for their dismissal
The members include Moses Ndung’u Kahura, Julius Ngotho Githiri, Luke Njenga Wamaitha, Ann Wajiru Ngige, and Veronicah Wangari from Muguga Ward.
Others are Anthony Kamau, John Ngahu Waruimbo, Benard Njoroge Kariuki, John Maina Ngigi, and William Mwaura from Ngoliba Ward.
Members from Gatuanyaga Ward include Daniel Ngigi, Mercy Ruguru, Mercy Wanjiku, John Ndabi, and Tabitha Wangari.
Others include Ephantus Macharia Muriithi, Member of Kahawa Wendani Ward; Harun Karanja Thuo, Member of Kijabe Ward; Peter Mbugua Matiru and Daniel Kimani Wambui from Githiga Ward; and Mary Wambui Kamau, Joseph Karanja Kariuki, and Rose Wangari, Members of Kinoo Ward.
