Following Lee Kinyanjui’s appointment as Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu has officially ratified leadership changes in the Ubuntu Peoples Forum (UPF), confirming his removal from the party’s leadership.
In an announcement published in the gazette notice, Nderitu approved the change of leadership within the UPF party and stated that Samuel Kinya Rukahu will take over as the party leader.
Erick Mburu Murage will continue serving as Deputy Party Leader in charge of Finance and National Coordination.
David Ngugi Mwaniki will retain his role as National Vice-Chairperson – Operations, working alongside Abdulahi Adan Mohammed and Murguya Wilson, who will also remain as National Vice-Chairpersons.
Beatrice Nyawira Wambugu has been appointed the new Secretary General, replacing Kinya, and will lead the party into the next phase of national elections.
Peter Owour Onyango will replace Janniffer Wambui Mwangi as the Deputy Secretary General of the political outfit.
More changes within the party include the positions of National Organizing Secretary, Director of Elections, and other national representations.
Nderitu invited any persons with objections to the party changes to write to the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties within seven days.
“Any person with written submissions concerning the intended change by the political party shall, within seven (7) days from the date of this publication, make their written submissions to the Registrar of Political Parties,” added part of the notice.
