30 Nyanza politicians who are set to join UDA, after ditching Raila.
30 Nyanza politicians who hail from Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay and Migori counties met up with the President and his Deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, at State House, Nairobi.
The leaders include; the former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) governors Okoth Obado (Migori), Jack Ranguma (Kisumu) and Evans Kidero (Nairobi), Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency chairman, Odoyo Owidi, and former Members of Parliament Martin Ogindo, John Pesa, Rose Nyamunga, Nicholas Gumbo and Edick Anyanga.
In the meeting, the Raila die hards, pledged their allegiance to the reigning president, William Samoei Ruto.
The leaders cited that for their regions to move forward in matters development, they will have to work with Kenya kwanza.
They further swore, to bring more sheaves to the house, by turning Azimio la umoja disciples to Kenya kwanza fold.
They stated,”As we speak here, we have already joined UDA with our supporters at the grassroots.”
On his part, President Ruto welcomed the leaders with open arms. He stated that time has come for him to act right by the people of Nyanza.
He stated,” We now have the opportunity to do the right thing for the people of Nyanza and change the politics of the region to that of development.”
Supporting him was the second in command, Rigathi Gachagua, who stated that the leaders now had a role, to liberate their people from bad leadership.
He stated,”You need to create your space and liberate your community from bad leadership.”
