7 live bullets each aimed at me- Raila condemns brutality after near death experience.
Yesterday, opposition leader, Raila Odinga held the third demonstration as outlined in his bi- weekly schedule.
However, peace was just a word in the constitution after bullets were shot at him, while he joined the wananchi to protest.
In a statement, Raila stated that he fails to understand why the law enforcers are using excessive force to counters protestors who are unarmed.
He condemned the act saying police brutality must come to an end, However, irregardless of their force, Azimio la umoja will not call off the protests.
He stated,”There’s no justification for the excessive force used against peaceful unarmed citizens exercising their democratic rights today. The unprovoked attack left my car hit with 7 live bullets, each aimed at me.”
Aggressively drove back by the police as it exited Kware in Pipeline on its way to the Central Business District.
The former premier was forced to turn around on the Eastern Bypass after protesters were dispersed with teargas and his convoy blocked from accessing Outering Road by water cannons.
However, defiant Raila has swore not to stop until President Ruto opens the IEBC servers and the cost of living. He infact highlighted that next monday will be the mother of all demonstrations.
He stated,”We won’t be deterred. Our quest won’t stop and we’ll hold the mother of all demonstrations next Monday, regardless of what our detractors say. We won’t give up.”
Raila further warned of possibilities of regressing back to the colonial times where violence was openly executed.
He stated,”We’re regressing back to colonial times when African lives were deemed worthless,”
“No justification exists for the brutality that we and the residents of Pipeline have endured this afternoon! Ruto and Gachagua your days are numbered and count them well,” he added.
