200 crates of alcohol seized as crackdown on illicit brew continue in Central Kenya.
The national police service, has reported a successful mission where they managed to confiscate sub- standard alcohol, harmful or not good for human consumption.
The detectives outlined that they intercepted a vehicle that had in it, the second hand alcohol and other uncustomized goods.
They reported,”At around 1:00 am today Police Officers on patrol along the Kagio-Sagana Highway intercepted a vehicle suspected to be transporting uncustomed goods, and seized 200 crates of alcohol. brand name “Ferrari”, 50 cartons of “People’s Choice” spirit, being transported from Nairobi to Kagumo.“
Else in Nyeri County, detectives managed to get hold of cannabis sativa rolls, from a 19 year old, who also had in possession a pistol.
The police reported,” Elsewhere in Nyeri County, Officers from Munyange Police Station today arrested a 19 year old suspect after he was found in possession of a homemade pistol, stones of cannabis sativa and rolls of the same.”
This comes a day, after the police confiscated multiple crates of illicit brew, from a home in Murang’a county.
Detectives reported,”Police in Murang’a in collaboration with the local Administration and members of public, on 27/05/2023 conducted a crackdown on illicit brews within Marema Village, Kambiti Location at the homestead of one Njuguna.”
”The operation led to seizure of 83 crates of Santa King Ice believed to be a counterfeit alcohol, five crates without stickers, and arrest of three female suspects,” they added.
Police have given gratitude to the members of public for their continued assistance in making Kenya a better place.
