CASs set to know their fate today as court is expected to render a verdict.
In a communication from the office of the Judiciary, Appointed and sworn in CASs set to know their fate today as court is expected to render a verdict at 9 Am.
This comes after a petition was filed to challenge their appointment and the whole swearing in process.
The 50 CAS were sworn in by the head of state, the National Assembly declined to vet them citing it had no constitutional authority to do so.
The high court of Kenya however, barred the appointees from assuming office, pending the hearing and determination of a petition challenging their appointment process.
Justice Hedwig also barred them from earning a salary, remuneration or any benefit pending the conclusion of the case filed by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) and Katiba Institute.
Adding to the petition was the claim by the judiciary where they cited that it did not send any official to State House to conduct the swearing in ceremony and that it had no role whatsoever in the process.
