Kiambu governor breaks silence after video of pregnant woman left stranded at Kiambu Hospital trends.
In a disturbing video, a woman is seen advocating for another woman, who had lost a child at Kiambu hospital but the baby was yet to be removed from the womb.
According to the woman, the mother had arrived at 5 Am and it was already 4 Pm with no health care personnel attending to her.
The woman complained,”As a mother, I feel her pain. She was here from 5:00 am but received treatment at 4:00 pm. The baby had already died and she is also diabetic. Her feet are swollen.”
“Do they want me to undress or go scream outside so they can attend to us? How much money do you want? We have been here since morning and there have been free beds,” she decried.
Through a statement signed county’s Health County Executive Committee (CEC) Elias Maina Mbuthia, Kiambu governor breaks silence saying the he will take action against any health care personnel supposed to be attending to patients but chose negligence.
He also noted that an investigation has been lauched, to try and establish the series of events that led to the mother loosing the baby and being left stranded with a dead baby inside of her.
Wamatangi stated,”The matter is being addressed at the highest level in the county government with Dr Elias Maina (CEC Health Services) initiating an investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.”
