Miguna declares his application for the position of director of public prosecutions.
In a statement, Advocate Miguna Miguna declares his application and that it is true, he is eyeing the position of director of public prosecutions.
Miguna stated,” For the avoidance of any doubt, YES, I have applied for the position of The Director of Public Prosecutions. Cheers.”
If successful, Miguna will replace Noordin Haji, who was appointed as National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General last month.
When asked if he can prosecute even the head of state, Miguna outlined that the head of state is protected from the criminal and civil proceedings.
He stated,”PRO BONO. Under the Constitution of Kenya, 2010, the President is immune from criminal and civil proceedings. Lastly, the DPP prosecutes. It’s the Kenya judiciary that has the mandate to jail those it has convicted.”
Netizens have wished him all the best, others describing him as an upright man who upholds the rule of law.
One netizens stated,”For I am telling you this
Before it occurs. So that when it does take place you may believe what I have been declaring, that Dr. Miguna Miguna is anointed and chosen for this job. May the General continue to fearlessly serve our nation. Without turning left or right, he will make sure the job is done, and done right. Quickly, and without delay let it be so, oh God.Viva”
Eric wrote,”All the best general. Atleast nobody is questioning your abilities, rather they are saying you’re a principled man who will not bend rules or laws even for friends. Kudoz..”
