Overthrow the government if you are able, we are not budging- David Ndii.
Chairperson of the presidential council of economic advisors, has downplayed Azimio la umoja’s efforts to deal with the happenings of the country.
He stated that if Azimio la umoja is able to overthrow the government, they should do it or prepare for 2027 general elections.
He stated,”We are not budging. Overthrow the government if you are able, otherwise wait for elections.”
Mr. Ndii was responding to a comment from a tweep who called upon all the president’s advisors, to come on board and talk to the head of state.
The tweep wrote,”Yesterday’s civil disobedience across the country was a shocker to the country’s leadership including Raila Odinga. The people are tired. Economic advisors to the President, it’s time to show your worth.”
Notably, David Ndii advised anyone who feels the police violated Kenyan rights, they should go to court.
He stated,”How are we going to institutionalize rule of law if we do not use institutions? The police is or ought to be independent. If govt can order police to release people, it stands to reason it can also order police to arrest people. If police violate law, take them to court.”
His remarks comes after the trade cabinet secretary also outlined that protestors can burn all they want but the government will stick to the rule of law.
Kuria stated,”The violence in Mlolongo yesterday was because we evicted squatters from East Africa Portland land led by Mavoko MP Patrick Makau. Today we will evict all illegal squatters. You can burn all you want but sibanduki.”
