One dead as several others are injured; The accident happened at the Ojola area along the Kisumu-Busia road.
According to on- lookers, The accident involved a saloon car, trailer and matatu. The driver in the saloon car was trying to overtake six vehicles, when it rammed into the front wheel of the trailer heading to Maseno from Kisumu.
The vehicle then lost control and hit the PSV matatu which plunged into the nearby ditch.
The traffic officer stated,“The driver was overspeeding during the accident. The drivers should be very careful on the roads, especially now that children are heading back to school. Those disobeying the traffic rules will be dealt with accordingly.”
The Nyanza regional traffic officer Thanju Mwangi, also reported that those injured were rushed and admitted to various hospitals in Kisumu County.
