Nairobi County officially opens Amazon Web services Development Centre; Speaking at Riverside, Nairobi, the head of state, William Samoei Ruto, expressed optimism in Kenya’s digital sector.
He stated,”At Riverside, Nairobi County, officially opened the Amazon Web Services Development Centre, the second on the continent after South Africa; proof that Kenya — the rising digital powerhouse — is open for business and innovation on a global scale.”
He was accompanied by Nairobi county Governor Sakaja Johnson, U.S. Ambassador to Kenya, ICT and the Digital Economy Principal Secretary Tanui John his Investment counter Hassan Abubakar among other leaders.
He stated that the centre will be an innovative way for Kenyan Youths to showcase their skills in an International platforms.
He stated,”Providing Kenyan youth with cutting-edge tech skills is an intentional way to prepare them to win in a world where innovation is the key to growth and success. It also enhances our expertise in technology, sparks enterprise, attracts investments and unlocks our potential for digital transformation.”
On his part, The second in command met up with the United states ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman, where they discussed matters development.
Dp Gachagua stated,” Comparing notes on priority areas with our development partners is part of our strategy of rebuilding our Nation. Earlier today, together with my Spouse Pastor Dorcas, we hosted the Us Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman at my Official Residence in Karen, Nairobi.
“We discussed a number of issues of mutual interest to the two Nations.
We will continue strengthening the existing partnership with our friends, besides building new alliances with others for development,” he added.
