Ministry of Education releases 2024 schools’ calendar, for pre-primary, primary, secondary schools as well as teachers’ training colleges.
According to the calender, The pre-primary, primary and secondary schools will open for the first term on January 8, 2024 and close on April 5, 2024. This will mark 13 weeks of learning.
They will however, have a three-day half term break from February 29 to March 3 before they embark on their studies and then a three-week holiday at the end of the term from April 8-26.
The second term which will run for 14 weeks, will start on April 29 and end on August 2, with an inbetween half term set for June 20-23, before they embark on a three weeks holiday beginning August 5-25.
The third term will last for 9 weeks from August 26 to October 25, followed by School holidays which will run from October 28 to January 3, 2025. This will pave way for the National examinations.
Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Intermediate Level Education Assessment (KILEA) examinations will run from October 28-31.
Afterwards,The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams which will run from November 4-22.
Notably, The teachers’ training colleges will open for term one on January 8 and break on April 5. The holidays will start from April 8-26.
Their second term will begin on April 29 and go until August 2, before they go on holiday thereafter on August 5-30.
The third term will run for 11 weeks, from August 26 to November 8. The long December holidays set for November 11 to January 3, 2025.
