Pledges made by CS Kuria In his Public Service Transformation Rapid Results Initiative.
Moses Kuria who recently took over the ministry of public service, has given Kenyans a number of pledges titled Public Service Transformation Rapid Results Initiative.
The Cabinet secretary stated that he will make the government accountable to the people through Wajibika town hall forums, that will be held with all the ministries across all counties.
Secondly, Kuria pledged that he will roll out a digital tool for tracking performance contracts, projects delivery and execution and individual staff performance for all 90,000+ public servants.
He stated,”We will implement a digital Ombudsman tool to be known as Pasha for the public to report all cases for denial of or poor services by national and county government institutions and avail all such incidents for public and media scrutiny.”
Thirdly, The CS stated that he will transform the National Youth Service into a baston of hope for young people by making it a mandatory leadership college. He highlighted that NYS will recruit at least 100,000 youth every year and create and at least 1 million indirect jobs.
CS Kuria stated,”We will make Kenya a thought leader in governance by converting the Kenya School of Government into the African School of Government while taking lead in emerging issues such as Strategic peace, security and defence, climate action and Green finance, African integration, Democracy and Human rights.”
The CS also stated that he will modernise the public service by replacing retiring public servants with young Kenyans.
Kenyans are assured to work for the government, irrespective of social, economic or political status through a digital, transparent and verifiable hiring tool.
Notably, The CS noted that his ministry will expand Huduma networks across the Country, in a way that it will cover the 5,000 government processes available online.
Further, CS Kuria stated that he will undertake a reform of state corporations and state owned enterprises, with a view of cutting wastage and burden to taxpayers.
Lastly, The CS outlined that his ministry will maximise government efficiency and effectiveness.
