Netizens react to CJ Koome’s Proposal Bill to Decriminalise Prostitution
According to chief Justice Martha Koome, prostitution will remain an offence, however not punishable through imprisonment but handled as apetty offence
Alternative Punishments will include; issuance of verbal sanctions, conditional discharge, probation, community service, and attending a rehabilitation centre.
The draft read,”Where a male person is proved to live with or to be habitually in the company of a prostitute or is proved to have exercised control over the movements of a prostitute in such a manner as to show that he is aiding her prostitution with any other person, he shall, unless he satisfies the court to the contrary, be deemed to be knowingly living on the earnings of prostitution.”
Mixed reactions from netizens have sparked;
Kadar stated,”Why is the Supreme Court so much vested in the promotion of evil and perverse behaviors? They okayed the registration of NGOs promoting homosexuality and other obscenities and now wants to legalize Prostitution? These judges may soon allow, God forbid, Sodom &Gomorrah waywardness.”
Seth stated,”If LGBTQ was Legalized then Prostitution can’t be a Big deal. CJ Koome should however just resign & be an ACTIVIST.”
Eric wrote,”Prostitution and homosexuality should remain CRIMINALIZED. It is only perverts & degenerates who promote the erosion of our family norms. The corruption of our cultural values begins when we elect hookers & cougars to sit in positions of political influence.”
Karanja opined,” I don’t know why Kenyans are acting surprised by the bill proposing to legalise Prostitution while gals are big on onlyfans & other 18+ sites. Prostitution is a million dollar industry & if properly managed & regulated it’s an avenue to increase the tax bracket.”
