Governor Arati Breaks silence After GSU Blocked his office In the Morning.
Speaking to citizen TV, Kisii County governor, Simba Arati, explained that the entrances to his Gusii stadium offices had been blocked by the GSU officers.
Hecalighted from his vehicle, greeted the officers who had positioned themselves strategically at all the entrances and asked them what they were doing there.
The governor Explained,“I alighted from the vehicle, greeted them and asked where their leader was and why they were there, but they did not tell me until when their leaders came,”
“When I talked to them and asked what they were doing at the stadium they told me they were resting so I wondered how they were resting yet they had taken positions at every entrance to my office,” he added.
The governor was surprised on why officers would surround his offices, if any case, If he did something wrong, Then EACC or the DCI could have contacted him.
As of now, The governor is not aware of the motive behind the GSU, but he suspects, it might be the work of his political competitors who are out to revenge.
He stated,” I have heard they were waiting for orders from the court, they were hoping that they would get orders to come to my office and at home,”
“I asked them yesterday if they get orders to come to my home they should come during the day because I live in the village so that you don’t kill my people,” he added.
The detectives have however, stated that had been dispatched to the county to crack down on rogue bodaboda riders allegedly engaged in criminal activities.
