We want KNEC to make public the formula they use for moderation- KNUT on KCPE Results Errors.
The Kenya National Union of Teachers has demanded that KNEC be held responsible for the errors that have caused mix ups in KCPE 2023 Results.
Kisumu branch Executive Secretary David Obuon demanded that KNEC CEO Dr David Njengere must explain to Kenyans why such happened and that he must be held accountable.
Obuon posed,”When results were released, there was a 3-hour delay in the SMS access of results. Are parents going to be refunded for the money used yet results were not delivered? Who will refund them?”
“We are no longer going to take them easy, somebody must be sleeping on his job, who is this? he added.
Obuon outlined that the students had prepared for the Kenya certificate of primary education, ever since they started school, therefore, the errors issue should not be taken lightly.
“We want KNEC to make public the formula they use for moderation. We want to know why there are particular schools where students scored the same marks in some subjects. In some schools children have scored 3% in social studies. Where on earth can that happen?” Obuon posed.
Yesterday, KNEC released a statement saying all results from the council were credible and accurate. The errors came up from the sms service providers.
They advised all students, to contact their primary schools and pick the provisional result slip.
KNEC said,”It was brought to the attention of KNEC that results for some candidates had misalignment of the marks and grades in Kiswahili as they were placed at the Kenyan Sign Language,”
“These cases have all been addressed and results for the affected candidates updated appropriately,” the council added.
