A night of terror: In an Incident that happened on Tuesday night, Several have been confirmed dead as a public service vehicle runs over pedestrians in Homa bay.
Confirming the accident was county governor Gladys Wanga, who stated that her government had already mobilized the county emergency team.
Governor Wanga told the media that four pedestrians who were knocked by the vehicle died while one survivor who was in a critical condition was transferred to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital.
Several others are receiving treatment at Kendu Bay Sub County Hospital.
The statement read,”This evening, we were notified of a tragic accident in the Karabondi area involving a PSV and pedestrians, resulting in the loss of four lives,”
“Our emergency response teams have been mobilized, and one critically injured survivor has been transferred to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital. Other survivors are currently receiving medical care at the Kendu Bay Sub County Hospital,” she added.
While condoling with the families of the lost ones, the governor called upon all drivers to exercise vigilance even as they use the roads, they should stick to the traffic rules, prioritize the safety of pedestrians and other road users.
She stated,”We implore all drivers to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and prioritize the safety of pedestrians and other road users. Let us collectively work to prevent such tragic incidents in the future,”
“Our heartfelt sympathies and condolences go out to the families of the deceased. May their souls rest in eternal peace,” she added.
