Third Time This year: Another Infant Retrieved from a pit latrine in Kisii.
In a statement from the National police service, three infants, who parents are unknown, were found dumped in a pit latrine at Kiango Sub- location, Kisii County.
A very sad incident indeed, the Authorities raised an alarm, highlighting that this is the third time, such an incident is happening in the same Kisii County.
NPS wrote, “For a third time this year, Police in Kisii with the help of members of public have rescued 3 new born infants from pit latrines after they were dumped by unknown persons, the latest being an infant boy that was retrieved on 16/05/12/2023 at Kiango Sub-location.”
They confirmed that the boy is currently in a stable condition but still receiving treatment at Magena level 3 Hospital.
Notably, The national police service, highlighted that they will act in the best interest of the child to ensure he is safe, from now on.
NPS stated,”The infant boy is undergoing treatment at Magena Level 3 Hospital in stable condition. The National Police Service reiterates its committment to serve and to protect; and act in the best interest of the child.”
