Blame games in Gusii: The members of parliament who held a press conference at Parliament buildings claimed Nyakang’o arrest was part of a major plot to remove her from office and blamed President William Ruto for Nyakang’o’s tribulations.
The legislators namely; Nyamira Senator Okongó Omogeni, West Mugirango MP Steve Mogaka, Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka, Senator Grace Orwoba and Kitutu Chache South MP Anthony Kibagendi and Woman representatives from the Region.
However, Legislator Orwoba from Kisii, seemed to hold different thoughts about the arrest. She strongly supported the government and highlighted that the president had no hand in the frustrations Nyakang’o was facing.
In the video, Orwoba outlined that some personnel are at large, to try and create a wedge between the President and the Gusii people.
Orwoba stated,”Whatever is happening is not doing of the president. Anytime anything is being cooked by those who think they have power around the president is done when he is out of the country,”
Her remarks were not received well by some leaders such as Kibagendi who pointed fingers saying You cannot defend the president on this,” Kibagendi she cannot defend the president on this matter.
