More details emerge as DCI Seeks 21 Days To Detain Five Suspects In Murder Of Meru Blogger Sniper: The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is seeking 21 days to hold five suspects arrested in connection with the murder of Meru County-based blogger Daniel Muthiani aka Sniper
According to the documents presented in court, the DCI says the 21 days will enable them to conclude investigations, noting that more suspects are yet to be arrested.
The statement read,”The investigations team is seeking vital information… more other suspects who were involved in the murder are yet to be arrested,”
The five suspects include; Kenneth Mutua Gatiri alias Gasigi, Fredrick Muruiki Kiugi alias Pope, Frankline Kimathi alias Dudu Ras, Timothy Kinoti alias Timo and Murangiri Kenneth Guantai alias Tali.
According to a report from the wife, the deceased was lured by the five suspects through a phone call alleging that Meru Governor Mwangaza wanted to meet him.
An autopsy that conducted on the body of the deceased at the Marimanti Level 4 Hospital mortuary in Tharaka Nithi, Meru County, revealed that sniper died of strangulation.
Government pathologist Johansen Oduor, who conducted the examination, affirmed that he had marks on his neck and exhibited signs of a person who had lacked oxygen.
Notably, he had fractured ribs and showed injuries on his head which exhibited torture before he was strangled and then thrown into a river.
