Questions Raised as Uhuru uses Uganda Airlines to attend the inauguration ceremony of Tshisekedi: Yesterday former president Uhuru Kenyatta arrived at N’Djili International Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) ahead of the inauguration ceremony of the president-elect H.E. Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.
The ceremony is slated for Saturday 20th January 2024 at the Martyrs Stadium in Kinshasa. H.E. Tshisekedi garnered more than 70 percent of the total vote cast during the general elections that were held in December 2023 to comfortably secure his re-election for a second term.
The former President and Facilitator of the EAC- led Nairobi Peace Process was accompanied by Uganda’s Vice President Jessica Alupo.
However, his move to use Uganda Airlines, has ignited a debate on the socials, with others calling it a boycott on Kenya Airways and others asking so many questions.
Some of the reactions are;
Makori expressed,” I don’t know why President Uhuru Kenyatta used Uganga Airlines to fly to Leopdaville, but the major issues should be why he would attend the inauguration of Felix Tshisekedi.”
Kesio opined,”If only Uhuru Kenyatta, could have accpted the defeat, and be supportive to the current government, he would have been a patriot, rather he preferred to sabotage the government, because of his personal selfish intrest. He feared his lagacy would be washed away by hustler nation.”
Kagwi wrote,”UhuruKenyatta as the former Chief in Command, has the privilege to fly under protection of Kenya Airforce. The Kenya Defence Force in general has failed the state.”
