Uhuru Grants King’ori Mwangi’s Son Full Scholarship, Promises Him a Job: Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday offered a full scholarship to the son of retired Senior Assistant Inspector General of Police Zachary Mwangi King’ori.
Speaking during the burial of the former police boss in Nyeri, Uhuru revealed that Kingori’s son was pursuing his studies at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) at the time of his father’s death.
He added that the student had yet to complete his education, thus necessitating him to sponsor his studies.
Uhuru stated,” I have also indicated to my daughter (King’ori’s daughter) here that even his brother who is still at JKUAT and has not finished will be schooled by me. I will stand with him until he finishes school,”
“We will also work with other friends to ensure that he is settled after completing school so that he can continue with their father’s legacy,” he added.
Notably, he donated 1 Million Kenyan Shilling to A foundation that was being run by the former police boss who he credited for helping needy students by paying their fees.
Uhuru stated,” He had that foundation at Strathmore which he continued to support and ask for money. The fact that he is not here does not mean that it should stop. In memory of my friend and brother, I pledge Ksh1 million so that we can educate more and more children.”
