PS Hinga Dismisses Critics, Gives A Cost Breakdown of Kiptum’s House: The Principal Secretary for Housing, Charles Hinga, during the handing over of the house of the late marathon world record holder, Kelvin Kiptum, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the construction, saying the house was beautifully done.
Addressing the media at Kiptum’s Naiberi home in Uasin Gishu county, PS Hinga told off critics who have been debating the construction online.
He stated,”You know some of them even nicknamed it ‘Eldoret Quiver’. I hope they can now swallow their words because this is a beautifully done house.”
Hinga also revealed that the house cost Sh7 million to build, Citing the precast technology used and further arguing that it was more affordable as compared to brick and concrete structures.
He further revealed that the technology was gaining momentum around the world, given the short time it took to build the house.
Kiptum’s house was completed in seven days, with workers working day and night shifts to meet the deadline set by President William Ruto.
PS Hinga also urged Kenyans who wanted to build houses in the future to adopt the technology that had proved successful.
He stated,”In terms of durability, my house has stood for 10 years. The technology has also been around for over 50 years and has been used in America, South Africa and New Zealand. This technology is mainly used in America where wood is very expensive.”
This comes after a series of Critics in regards to the house.

Ruto gave an ultimatum to the family since he is building them a house that will resemble Quiver Lounge, so the burial will have to be on Friday because on Saturday he will be attending Benny Hinn’s prayer rally at Nyayo Stadium.”
