Fire Breaks Out at Nairobi CBD Building: The Fire happened at Nacico Co. Chambers Building in Nairobi CBD on Monday afternoon.

Reports indicated that the fire broke out at one of the shops at the building located near Imenti House but no injuries had been reported by the time of publishing this article.

Firefighters and Nairobi County askaris, popularly known as kanjos, promptly arrived at the scene of the incident and were working to put out the fire.

The area was sealed off by the police in conjunction with other authorities.

Shortly after the outbreak, a crowd of onlookers gathered at the scene and hampered efforts by firefighters to put out the fire.

Businesses stationed close to the building that caught fire were also forced to shut down to accord the firefighters ample time to contain the fire.

This comes weeks after an explosion culminated in a huge fire displacing many residents most of whom sought refuge at the Embakasi Social Hall.

A total of 761 individuals were affected in the incident,  13 people of which lost their lives while several others sustained injuries.

A month later, another fire razed down a children’s home in Embakasi leaving all its occupants homeless.
