Frida Mokaya Appointed Chief Registrar of the Judiciary: The Judicial Service Commission has appointed Frida Boyani Mokaya as the new Chief Registrar of the Judiciary.
Mokaya was appointed following successful interviews that were conducted by the Commission on Monday, March 18.
According to JSC, Boyani garnered the highest points in the interviews that attracted seven applicants. She will be replacing the former Anne Amadi.
Mokaya has a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Nairobi. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Law from the University of Nairobi in 1993 before proceeding for her Post Graduate Diploma in Law at the Kenya School of Law.
Prior to her appointment, she served as the registrar of the Judicial Service Commission. A position she has held since 2012.
She has also served as a District Magistrate (1997-1999), Resident Magistrate (1999-2003), Senior Resident Magistrate (2003-2008) and Principal Magistrate (2008-2011).
Additionally, between 2011-2012, she served as a Senior Principal Magistrate
