Villagers hold A Cleansing Ceremony On Chira’s Grave Saying TikTokers ‘Misbehaved’: Residents of Gitei village, Gathanje, Kiambu County where popular Tiktoker Brian Chira was buried, have come out to say that tik tokers who attanded the burial, Misbehaved and disrepected the Kikuyu Traditions.
According to the villagers, The late tiktoker was supposed to be buried respectfully but the Rowdy crowd of Tiktokers dubbed “Chira Clan” made it impossible even for the clergy to access the burial site for final rites for the dead.
Notably, Outrage ignited after the tiktok mourners recklessly drunk and smoked on the burial site with urban dancing, taking pictures and recording videos instead of Mourning as portrayed in the Kikuyu culture.
Further, Villagers claimed that after the body was lowered, Tiktokers planted flowers on Chira’s grave and watered them with alcohol.
The villagers Lamented,” We didn’t like the way they dressed, smoked and drank alcohol in front of us. They didn’t even respect the clergy. They were disrespecting our Kikuyu traditions, and we’ve never seen that before. They urinated everywhere,”
“That’s not the way we were brought up. We’re worried about their future and how they’re going to raise their own children. It was a struggle even for the church to get access to the grave site. They don’t seem to know what they’re doing,” they added.
